Craigmhor Lodge in the 2012 Frommer's Complete Guide to Scotland.

We're delighted to have been selected for inclusion in the prestigeous Frommer's Guide to Scotland.  The reviewer was very impressed with our facilities and wrote:

This is family-run guest house of a very superior sort. The 3 bedrooms in the original Victorian house are complemented by a further 12 rooms in a stylish new courtyard building. While the Victorian rooms have high ceilings, fine traditional furniture and views over the valley, the rooms in the new block are decorated in muted tones for a warm and contemporary look, and have balconies or terraces looking out over the wooded grounds. The new rooms also have chic designer bathrooms with underfloor heating. Docking stations for iPods connect to a surround sound system so you can listen to music while in the bath. Several of the rooms can accommodate extra beds for children for a modest surcharge; travel cots and high chairs are also available. Packed lunches and supper hampers can be supplied on request. Six of the courtyard rooms are suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.

Take me there: Scottish autumn colourRead the Article Online

You don't have to travel to New England for a spectacular show of autumn colours. The hills and glens of Perthshire turn golden in October. Prime spots are the Birks of Aberfeldy, immortalised by Robbie Burns; the Pass of Killiecrankie, with its dramatic river gorge, and the larch-covered hills around Dunkeld and Birnam. The Highland Perthshire Autumn Festival (pitlochryautumnfestival.co.uk) celebrates the season with fireworks, storytelling, safaris, folk music and a sound-and-light show (until 29 October; enchantedforest.org.uk). Stay at Craigmhor Lodge, a family-run guest house set in woodland near Pitlochry (craigmhorlodge.co.uk). Doubles from £85.
